COMPASS Trial Findings

Date Posted: Sep 11, 2017

The use of Aspirin and old fashioned Warfarin in the management of stable coronary disease continues to provoke interest, particularly with the advent of the NOAC’s (Novel anticoagulants). Data from the COMPASS trial in this area continues to come through.

Aspirin we know is good. Aspirin and Rivaroxiban is even better, but the price you pay is more bleeding, but no greater risk of intracerebral haemorrhage.  Rivaroxiban on its own is a good as aspirin but more bleeding problems.
